Whether you love life drawing or just want to try something new, join us!
Life drawing – sometimes known as figure drawing – is the art of drawing the human, from a live model. It is a relaxing, enjoyable – and at the same time – challenging activity.
Drawing – and particularly life drawing – is not only an artistic discipline in itself, but it is also widely regarded as being of immense help with all of the visual arts. In a nutshell – improve your drawing, and all of your art will improve!
Our life drawing sessions take place on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings (with the occasional week off!) at The Storey, in central Lancaster.
The sessions are varied, with short, medium and long poses and a range of models on a rotating basis.
Along with artists from the Lancaster and Morecambe area, we have artists who regularly travel from other areas of Lancashire, and beyond.
Artists of all ages and abilities are welcome, and whilst there is no formal tuition, knowledge and encouragement are widely shared. Beginners are very welcome.
In addition to help and encouragement, basic art materials, such as pencils, charcoal, paper and pastels are available (should you need them) and a number of easels and drawing boards are available for use.
So feel free to drop-in (no need to book) and experience the enjoyment of drawing from a live model.
